A two-step process to take care of your convertible top
When the grime builds up, you need the right products for your convertible top. Scrub, clean, and protect your convertible top surface with Chemical Guys products.
The Chemical Guys convertible top cleaner is an advanced cleaning formula that’s safe on fabric, vinyl, and synthetic convertible soft tops, and the Protectant repels water, dirt, and stains.
Here’s how to use these products to clean & safeguard your convertible top.
Begin with a thorough wash to remove surface dirt, then spray the cleaner directly onto the convertible top, saturating the surface. (If any spray lands on your windshield or paint, it’s easy to wipe away.) Spray down your brush as well. Then scrub in circles to work the product into the fibers. You’ll see some white foam, which means it’s working. Use a microfiber towel to wipe away the product and the dirt it has released from the material; it may take several passes to wipe it all away.
Next, spray the protectant over the entire convertible top (wipe away any that lands on your paintwork). Let the product dry. Apply a second coat after at least 20 minutes of dry time.
The protectant needs 24 hours of curing before you take it outside. After that, you’ll enjoy months of water and stain resistance, which will not only clean but extend the life of your convertible top.
How often do you need to do this process?
We advise shampooing your convertible top once a month, although if the top isn’t dirty, a thorough rinse with cool water is fine.
